Learn how to become Cloud Practitioner certified in 4 days !
As an AWS Authorized Instructor, I've been training and coaching a lot of non technical people to go through this certification. This is quite a challenge to popularize some of the concepts but once done, anyone can achieve this certification with some few hours of work. In this post, I will explain you how to become an AWS certified Cloud Practitioner in 4 days !
First, let me introduce, according to me, who should get this certification and why ? The Cloud Practitioner certification is aimed at giving the very fundamental knowledge about AWS infrastructure, billing, core services... I would recommend this one for people who needs to know the big picture. For example, product managers, sales, business holders, C-Levels, HR teams... It can give you the right words for your commercial elevator pitch, knowledge for the SLA you could aim for, IT strategy, lead recruiting interview with AWS background etc...
AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification Journey
- Training lessons :
- If you can have access to a training day with an AWS Authorized Instructor (not with Denzel Washington), it will facilitate the learning. One day is enought.
- After that, you should consolidate with 1 or 2 days of self training. 1 day if you already had a training day with an AWS Authorized Instructor and 2 days if you didn't. For self studies, I highly recommend Cloud Academy since their platform is proposing you a very helpful training path. If you can't pay the 40$/month, you can find some less expensive courses on Udemy or free ones around the internet but they might be less effective.
- Training exams :
- I recommend to take 3 or 5 training exams to well prepare yourself but also to be sure to meet a good completeness of questions. Whizlabs is a good platform since it is proposing exams close to the real ones and is not that expensive.
My tips for the exam
- When you're not sure to have the good answer(s), try to eliminate the wrong one(s).
- Try to find the keywords in the question to quickly identified the good answer.
- Try not to spend more than 2min per question.
- Don't overthink : there is no trap.
- Don't stress if you dont have the direct answer to the first questions, the next and last ones will probably be less complicated.
- Don't preempt your result. I passed 7 exams and 6 times I was pretty sure that I will fail in the middle of the exam. It wasn't the case.
